One

One is a lonely number, but I've been waiting to see it for quite a long time!! I haven't seen this specific "one" since about 2001! This "one" is not the first number of my weight just yet, but it is the first number in my jeans size! I bought a pair of jeans today in a size 18 to have them ready to go whenever I got there. My 20's were getting loose, but not so loose that I thought I'd be ready for the 18's. I tried on the 18's when I got home to see just how far I had to go before they'd fit and guess what?! They fit! I pulled them on with ease, zipped and buttoned them and I can sit in them and breathe at the same time! I know for so many of you out there a size 18 wouldn't be anything to celebrate, but when you start at a size 24, 18 feels pretty darn awesome!

OoooOOooooo....did you catch that?! I shared something specific about my size! I haven't done that yet on this weight-loss journey of mine with anyone other than my hubby, WW leader, and doctor!

Underwhelmed

I lost another pound this week, 1.2 in fact. Somehow I'm completely underwhelmed by that number. I've had four weeks in a row with a pound loss. I should be happy with that! 1-2 pounds per week is healthy and exactly what Weight Watchers said I should be losing, but after have some bigger losses, one pound just doesn't feel like much. I'll keep tracking my points and making good choices and hope to have another loss this next week.

That said, my WW buddy hit their -20 milestone today!! Yay!

Roller Coasters

Imagine me on a roller coaster. Climbing and climbing up those steep hills and then plummeting into deep valleys. Imagine those hills being stress. It builds and builds and builds and then you get relief, a valley, a sigh of relief. My DH and I have been climbing a hill with our DS and his hearing impairment since he was born four years ago. We climbed to every doctor visit, we climbed when he was under anesthesia twice for hearing test and CAT scan, we climbed to every audiology appointment and failed hearing test, we climbed whenever his dinosaur-aged hearing aid broke and was sent off for repair, we climbed to the day of his first surgery, yesterday. Yesterday we got a valley and our DS's surgery went very well. We won't know the results for awhile, but we feel like those results will lay in a valley and not be another hill to climb. We'll climb another hill whenever his second surgery is scheduled and hope for a valley of relief with that one, too. Yesterday was a huge day for us, we got a valley with our son's hearing impairment roller coaster. We also got another valley yesterday, making our day an ever bigger relief! We're not moving to Florida after all! My amazing and wonderful and incredibly intelligent husband was offered a different job right where we are. We don't have to move! What a huge valley for us!! We both sighed a big sigh of relief once that decision was made.

So many times in our lives we face hills to climb. In the past, I would climb those hills with a bowl of ice cream in hand, making it much harder to climb. The last few weeks have been stressful for my DH and I with the potential move to Florida and the impending surgery for our son. Instead of pizza and ice cream, though, we chose healthy options. I prayed. A lot.  Climbing those virtual hills with 50+ pounds off sure makes it easier! The support of my husband, healthy choices, and prayer got me up those hills and now we're in a beautiful valley full of potential, together.  God is faithful and he does answer prayers, I never doubted it. Life is good.

God is Good!

Popping in to write that my DS's surgery today went very well and that he's home and doing great! We'll know better the results once the doctor sees him again in about a week and a half, but for now we're thrilled that it went as well as it did. Thank you to all who prayed for him today!

Early Weigh-In

I weighed in tonight instead of tomorrow night because my DS is having surgery tomorrow. I lost 1.2 pounds this week! I'm happy about that!

It has been another stress-filled week with everything going on with moving and DS's surgery coming up tomorrow, so I again didn't make the best choices. I still tracked everything I ate and stayed within my points, though.

If you pray, please pray that my DS's surgery will be uneventful and that it will be a success. He has a hearing impairment and they're going to work on one ear tomorrow to try to help him. His other ear will be worked on in December if this one goes well and if both sides go as we hope, he'll hear without a hearing aid afterward. So, it is a big deal!

Pound

A quick post to update my weigh-in tonight...I lost 1 pound this week! I'll take the one pound gladly as it was a stress-filled week. My DH accepted a job in Florida last Friday, so we'll be moving from Nebraska to Florida very soon! I've never even been to Florida, so it is foreign to me....I've never sold a house before, so that is all new and my DS has surgery next week for his hearing impairment, which is a pretty big deal for us. Lots going on in my life right now, so to have a loss this week was great! I didn't make the best choices, but I still tracked everything I ate and stayed within my alloted points. A pound is a pound! :o)
