What I Eat: Volumn 2

I don't typically eat the same thing day in and day out, but a reader asked what I do usually eat each day. Since WW is based off of points and everyone's allotted points are different (based on gender, weight, height, activity level...etc), the way I eat now is different than the way I ate 40+ pounds ago and it will continue to change as I lose more weight in the future. That said, my typical day looks something like this:

Breakfast:
bagel thin with peanut butter, oatmeal or cereal
yogurt or fruit, sometimes both

Lunch:
turkey sandwich on a sandwich thin or a Smart Ones frozen meal
1oz of chips and/or 1 cup of fruit/veggies

Dinner:
Pasta and chicken are favorites, so usually when I cook it is one of those things. Right now turkey burgers are a favorite. I try to have my plate half full of veggies and fruit or a side salad, too.

Snacks:
I love the ranch multigrain crisps from WW for 2 pts, also WW brand ice cream bars, skinny cow ice cream treats and stuff like that. If I find I'm hungry mid-day I'll have a piece of fruit or some carrots with cheese or dip.

Beverages:
I drink a lot of water. I'll have a diet coke every now and then, too. I try not to drink my points, so I usually stay away from juice. I should be better about drinking milk, but I do get plenty of dairy in my diet without it with yogurt and cheeses.

Friend Makin' Monday

Friend Makin' Monday is here! I used to have another blog and participated in FMM, but haven't done it on this blog yet. It is just a fun way to share something about yourself and then link up with others who are answering the same questions to meet new bloggers.

I like...painting. Walls or art, it relaxes me.

I don't like...cleaning, but I love the results!

I love...my family.

I dream of...being at my goal weight and running a marathon.

I wonder...what God has in store for myself and my family; are we done with one or will we someday have another child? How long will we live in Nebraska?

I know...that my family means the world to me.

I went...to a birthday party yesterday and I ate only half of a small piece of cake for three points.

I have...to weed my flower beds, they look terrible right now.

I think...I'm going to make my "mini" goal this week!

I plan...to do some major cleaning today. Good times...

I regret...nothing. I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for the choices I made in the past.

I do...want to someday go back to school. I need to figure out what I want to be when I grow up first, though.

I drink...a lot of water every day and the occasional diet coke and not much else.

I wish...I was better about taking my vitamins.

I am...further along on this weight-loss journey than I thought I'd be by now and am very pleased with that!

I am not...anywhere near my goal weight yet, one day at a time and I'll get there!

I need...to get to bed at a decent hour more often.

I graduated...from high school in 1996. Some days that feels like forever ago and other days I can't believe it's been that long!

I hope...that I can have my basement back to normal soon. We came home to water after our vacation and all that has been done so far is drying it out. Lots to get done!

I want...my hair to grow a little faster. I've been growing it since April when my hair stylist cut it way too short!

I sometimes...spend more time in the bathroom longer than needed just to get some quiet alone time.

I always...pray daily.

I can...sing and play piano. Some say I'm pretty good at it, too. ;o)

I work...from home. Besides being a stay-at-home mother, I teach piano/vocal lessons and sell cute things that I make/paint.

I cannot...wait for fall. I'm ready for the beautiful colors of the trees, pumpkin patch trips, hay rides, apples and cooler temps!

I avoid...olives, mayonnaise, and avocados...yuck.

I will...be a weight watcher for life. This doesn't end once I reach my goal weight. It is a new lifestyle that I will live with forever.

.2

I weighed in this evening and I lost 4.2 pounds this week! Whoa. I'm not sure how I'm doing bigger numbers like that after four months in the WW program, but I'm happy to have them! On average I'm losing just over two pounds a week and WW recommends losing 1-2 a week for a healthy weight loss. I'm close, so I'm good. If I was consistently losing over 4 pounds every week, then I would need to modify things to slow it down. With that 4.2 pound loss this week, I'm only 0.2 from my next goal of being in the next decade of weight by Labor Day! I have one week to lose 0.2 and I'm pretty sure I can do that.

My August total loss is 8.2 pounds and my overall loss is now 41.8 pounds! My measurements are:
Hips: -4.7 inches
Thighs: -4 inches
Waist: -7 inches
Bust: -3 inches
Arms: -3 inches

Here is a quick slide show of myself when I started WW and today.

I posted a slide show of myself at my starting weight, -20, -30, and now -40 pounds on the Progress Pictures page at the top, too, so go check that out. It is amazing to me how much of a difference 10 pounds can make!

My WW partner had a great first week! I'm not going to post about them every week, but I do think that -4.6 pounds in the first week is awesome and something to be celebrated!!! So proud of you!

Wish me luck this next week to meet my next goal and get into that next decade of weight! I'm excited to be there!

Weigh-in Results August 19th, 2010

Today was the last weigh-in for my vacation weeks. I lost 0.6 pound. Not as much as I usually like to see, but we had a nice dinner out last night for our anniversary and TOM is still pending. That brought my vacation total to -4 pounds, though, and I'm very happy with that!

My WW partner is starting today and I'm so excited for them! Since I usually weigh-in in the morning and then return in the evening for the meeting portion, next week I'll be going back to just weighing in in the evening and then going to the meeting. That way my WW partner and I can weigh-in together, too. So look for weigh-in results in Thursday evenings starting next week!

In other news, my little guy starts his second year of preschool today! He's so excited. This year he's in an afternoon class, so that will be a big change to our schedule we had last year when he went in the mornings. I'm looking forward to getting a few projects done around the house while he's at school. We even bought paint for our bedroom last night so that I could get started on that today!

10th Anniversary

My DH and I were married on August 18th, 2000...10 years ago today! Time flies when you're having fun, that is for sure. Ten years ago, I weighed about 70 pounds less than I do right now and I thought back then that I needed to lose some weight.  I hope that by our 11th anniversary I will be able to fit back into my wedding dress, if not have it be a little too big for me. That is a big goal, but one I believe is attainable!

Some Vacation Photos

We're back home after a fantastic vacation! Here are just a few photos from our time away...

The new background is to reflect a special day this week for myself and my husband. We are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on Wednesday!! Wow how time flies! To think that ten years have already gone by is strange to me. I don't feel old enough to have been married ten years!

This is a big week for us as our DS also starts his second year of preschool on Thursday, too! He is growing up way too fast. No longer is he my little baby boy, he's a big kid now and knows the ropes of preschool. He's so excited to start on Thursday.

In other news, I have a new partner for my WW journey and I'm very excited for that! Their name will be withheld unless I get permission, but I'm so thrilled to have someone to do WW with me and for the support we'll be able to give each other!

As far as my weight-loss goes this week. We'll see! I haven't eaten well the last few days due to being on the road back home and such, plus TOM is due to visit by week's end, so there's that, too. Hopefully I'll have a loss on Thursday despite all of that! I'm still tracking my points and sticking with the program, so it shouldn't be bad.

Vacation Weigh-in #2

I'm still on vacation and I drove an hour and a half today to get to a WW meeting to weigh in! How's that for dedication?! :) I lost 1.6 pound, so that totals 37 pounds in 15 weeks! I'm happy to have lost again while on vacation with so many temptations around. That is the beauty of WW. It is simple no matter where you are and you can have whatever you'd like as long as you're accountable for it and track the points. I have had cookies, s'mores, and fried fish and still managed to lose 3.4 pounds so far on our family vacation. It can be done! Now I have only 5 more pounds to lose by Labor Day to reach my next goal.

Losing on Vacation!

I'm on vacation with my family, but went to a WW meeting today to weigh-in anyway. I lost 1.8 pound in six days! I usually weigh in on Thursdays, but went today so that I could go earlier in the day as an early meeting isn't offered on Thursdays. So happy to have that loss over vacation! I got my 35 pound star today at the meeting, too! I'll be on vacation for my next weigh-in, too, so no new posts between now and then.

Until then...
